The mats, printed with a selection of statements, slogans and data relating to the housing crisis, were distributed for free to residents of Dublin 8, the community in which the artist is based and an area particularly affected by housing issues such as homelessness, unaffordability and profit-driven regeneration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-376\" src=\"https:\/\/datastories.maynoothuniversity.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/9-all-mats.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1365\" srcset=\"https:\/\/datastories.maynoothuniversity.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/9-all-mats.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/datastories.maynoothuniversity.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/9-all-mats-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/datastories.maynoothuniversity.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/9-all-mats-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/datastories.maynoothuniversity.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/9-all-mats-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/datastories.maynoothuniversity.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/9-all-mats-1536x1024.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2048px) 100vw, 2048px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The artists set up a stall on Meath Street on 21<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">st<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> May, creating a space for conversation around housing issues using the doormats as cues.
